Kolby's 1st Flag Football Game + More K&E Soccer Photos

Kolby is playing flag football as well as soccer. He is on the Chargers and is loving it, but continues to ask me why he can't play tackle football. Well, the answer is because I am trying to preserve your brain and body for at least a few years! Here are a few pictures from his first flag football game along with some more soccer photos of him and Eliza:

Hippity hoppity Eliza coming off the field for a drink at halftime. She cracks me up bouncing all over the field the entire time. And if she looks over and I have the camera out, she stops right there in front me (yes, in the middle of the game) and poses like you see below. After the game she asked why she was making me laugh so hard during the game and when I told her of all the entertainment she provided, she was pretty proud of herself.

Cute Carson just wanting to get in on the action so badly! Just a few more years, buddy!

Flag Football in the Backyard & Carson Happy Helper Again

The kids have been having lots of fun playing flag football in the backyard with their dad. Eliza and Carson take turns being on Geoff's team and Kolby always gets the other one. They use long socks for their flags that they tuck into their shorts. It is so cute. The pictures show the boys in action and Eliza's "game face". She's hilarious! And also, another picture of our little happy helper, so proud of himself for getting the honor again. Love these cute little kids!

Grandma & Grandpa Howard Came to Visit

Geoff's parents came to visit for a quick weekend trip so that Geoff's dad could ordain Geoff to a High Priest (office of the Priesthood at church). It was so nice of them to make the trip. The kids had so much fun seeing their grandparents. I wasn't around too much because I was down in Valencia for Ashley's baby shower, but Sunday after church we did have a little birthday celebration with German chocolate cake and ice cream for Geoff's dad since his birthday was earlier in the week. This is the fabulous picture I captured. :-)

The cute table before we put the yummy food on it. There was also another table with drinks and a chocolate fountain on it. Delish!

On September 11, we had a baby shower for my sister Ashley. It is her first baby and she is having a little boy due on October 22. She is going to be such a cute mom. She has been a super fun aunt and I can't wait to see her interact with her own child. Ashley's friend, Katie and her mom did a lot of the baby shower and made it look so cute. It was fun to see all of Ashley's friends, family, eat yummy food and see lots of super cute baby things. Here are a few of the gazillion photos I took:

1st Soccer Game of the Season

Kolby and Eliza have been dying to play soccer for the last 2 seasons. Unfortunately, we have always been in between moves at that time and have missed soccer season or sign ups. So this year we were sure to find out about it as soon as we moved back to Visalia. We were introduced to the Visalia Youth Soccer League and the kids have been loving it. Kolby's coaches are Ryan Marshall and Amy Phippen and it is almost an entire team of kids from our ward, which Kolby is loving. They are in the navy blue uniforms and are named the Sharks. Eliza is playing on the Little Rascals with Darren Cutler and Damon ? as her coaches. She is having fun but definitely not quite as into it as Kolby is. I'm not sure if it is because she is younger or if it is just because she doesn't have quite the same competitive spirit that Kolby has. Anyways...here are some pics from the first game. Sorry Kolby that I don't have more of you...Carson must have needed lots of attention.

Kolby: Happy Helper Week 3 & Trying to be like Dad

Our happy helper for week #3 was Kolby. He was a great helper and this was awesome because as the oldest, he really does set the tone as to how the other kids respond to me when I ask them to do something. So when Kolby is helping out, the others are much more willing to do their share too which of course is much appreciated by me. After the first week of Happy Helper, Kolby decided to really start trying cuz he realized how cool it would be to get the hat and the candy all to himself so we were happy that he would win the award this week.

On a funny note, Kolby does hilarious things sometimes to imitate his dad. He really does love his dad and wishes that his dad could be around all the time. One of the funny things he does is he will put on Geoff's running clothes, his Garmin running watch, his Ipod and pedometer and run around the house as fast as he can until he is all tired out. And then of course he checks his pedometer to see how many steps he takes. (Geoff wears the pedometer for work...they get points towards special prizes based on how many steps they take). Kolby was of course embarrassed that I wanted to catch this on tape, so I don't have much footage, but I think it is so cute that he wants to be so much like his Dad. And it shows how active he wants to be...always on the go. I'll be happy and he will too when i get some energy to play around with him in the backyard again after the baby is born.
